Blue Lagoon

2 Hours Stop With Lunch

Comino’s biggest draw is the Blue Lagoon, a sheltered cove between the western end of the island and the uninhabited islet of Cominotto (Kemmunett in Malti). It’s incredibly beautiful and inviting, with a white-sand seabed and clear waters. The blue is so intense it’s as if you’ve stepped into an over-saturated postcard. The southern end of the lagoon is roped off to keep boats out; there is top-notch swimming and snorkelling here, plus you can swim over to Cominotto.

Crystal Lagoon

1 Hour Stop

Crystal Lagoon is one of those hidden beaches that you can only reach by boat. The blue of the water is one of the best experience that you can have in your trip in Malta. At the same time, Crystal Lagoon is one of those beaches that you can relax and enjoy as it is not a crowded beach and you can spend a peaceful and relaxing day in Comino.

Comino Tower

The history of Comino’s tower

In 1618, The Knights of Malta erected St. Mary’s Tower (It-Torri ta’ Santa Marija) on the orders of Grandmaster Wignacourt, designed by Maltese architect Vittorio Cassar. Funds for its construction were raised primarily by means of the sale of Comino brushwood. Located roughly in the centre of the southern coast of the Island, it formed part of a chain of defensive towers built by Wignacourt, Lascaris, and De Redin installed at vantage points along the coastline of the Maltese Islands, and greatly improved communications between the Islands of Malta and Gozo.

The Tower is a large, square building with four corner turrets, located about 80 metres above sea level. The Tower itself is about 12 metres tall, with walls that are approximately 6 metres thick, and is raised on a platform and plinth that are approximately 8 metres high.
